About 5 minutes ago, I was typing up an email to my dear friend Stephanie when Kim advised me that Christopher Reeve just died. I'm not all broken up about it, but it's just weird. So, here's to you Christopher Reeve!

Name change
I'm finally going to change my name. I think the only reason I haven't yet is because it seems like a slight hassle; at this point, I don't even care anymore. Here is what I wrote in the petition in the "Reason for Name Change" field:
My mother (Evie *******) and father (Robert Russell *******) divorced when I was 5 years of age and his only presence in my life has always been at his convenience. From a psychological stand-point, the name, "*******" represents a lifetime of pain and rejection by my father and only serves as a constant reminder of his repugnance to me. After 32 years of hearing, seeing, and writing the letters *-*-*-*-*-*-*, I no longer want my identity associated with the name, "*******."
I guess a part of me just didn't want to let go. It has been two-and-a-half years since we last spoke, and I'm sure that if he has anything to do about it, we will never speak again. He didn't speak to his father for about twenty-five years, so I know he is fully capable of such a task. Holding on doesn't do anything but piss me off, so I guess it's better to just finally say "Good bye."

Gotta rant...
I just have to get this off of my chest. It bugs the T-total shit out of me when I hear people say "back slash" for the symbol /. It's a fucking FORWARD slash for fuck's sake, hence it's FORWARD slant. A BACKSLASH is \ hence it's BACKWARD slant. That's all for now.
